San Diego County Bar Association Board of Directors We endorse Marcella McLaughlin Endorsement policy The San Diego Deputy District Attorneys Association, in conjunction with our political action committee, San Diegans Against Crime, is pleased to consider requests for endorsement. Our procedure is detailed below. Please contact Janay Kruger for additional information. Process for Endorsements: The following is our process to consider requests for endorsement: i) Endorsement meetings will occur two times a year in Spring and Summer and as needed. Those dates will be agreed at the annual retreat and made available to those who may seek endorsements. ii) Candidates or representatives of issues will give notice to the DDAA and PAC that they wish to attend one of those meetings. The opposing candidates may be invited to also appear. The meetings will occur at a non-county facility. iii) Candidate to fill out a questionnaire which will be posted posted on the Association web site. (watch this space) iv) The Association will solicit feedback by providing advance notification. Comments, questions, and concerns will be sought from: a) Members of the Association; b) Law Enforcement Associations v) The request for endorsement will appear as an item on the Association Agenda as a notice item along with the date and time of the endorsement meeting. vi) After the candidate interviews, there will be a joint discussion of both boards about the possible endorsement. Interviews will be open to the membership. Voting will occur separately by each board in executive session. vii) If endorsed, the candidate will be advised in writing on how to correctly refer to the DDAA and/or SDAC. viii) The result of the endorsement process will be announced to the membership. |
